Thank you for your response, Brokeback Bill. However, I don't know if I agree with you. Think about the 924 Gilman Street Scene out in Cali, or the Seattle Scene that produced Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Both of these awesome scenes were thriving in the 80's, before the punk/ska/alternative explosion. In fact, they produced a lot of the bands that brought about the punk/ska/alternative explosion. They got by without any national exposure. They merely had a lot of the things I talked about in my other posts.
