They are too wrapped in their narrow view of what good music is. They are out of touch with teens and early 20-somethings. I have heard, "another boring Peoria indie rock show," about a million times from my friends. How about get a band that sounds like Arcade Fire or Stars? The Peoria scene has always been cow towny, which is why Peoria's art scene is dead. That and the city council are too conservative. Peoria is not reflective of the liberal artistic areas of the nation at all. The cool kids leave for college in Seattle and Boston and never come back. They are wise. I will hesitate from listing the names of the numerous crappy bands from the past, present and future from Peoria. That would be mean.
