Posted by Suit's TR-909 best of all where my sound is concerned i am 100 percent analogue with the exception of my cymbals, which are 8 bit digital samples but with nicely distorting analogue VCAs to gate them with. just because the TB-303 and i made acid house possible doesn't mean i suck at other things: rock, country, r&b, and noise musicians have all used me in one form or another to give their drum tracks the special kind of kick in the bum that only my incredibly deep and hard bass drum can. about the only thing i blow at is jazz with a swing feel: only a human can do that. i have few equals in the world of electronic instruments, taking my rightful place next to the Hammond organ with Leslie speaker, the Rhodes piano, the Minimoog, and my siblings the TR-808 (my older brother) and the TB-303. our sounds are timeless and will always have a place in whatever music is current. in other words: no one is making clones of Oberheim DMXs or Alesis SR-16s. but everyone wants a piece of me!
Link: I've outlived half this crap. me 'n the Eventide will be buds forever.

i keep time well, keep my mouth shut on tours, never nail your girlfriend, and remember all the tunes unless you leave my batteries in for 10 years without changing them. i have a nice sturdy construction with individual outs and plenty of interfacing with MIDI i/o, Sync24 in, and a trigger out slaved off my lovely rimclick track.
