I was under the impression that over the last few years we were making a lot of progress on being PSR compliant and only fell outside because of a disagreement about how a relatively small amount of money we'd considered part of stadium construction was being treated.
one of two things has happened since then:
1. massive increase in debt in order to get the stadium completed, but that's outside PSR so doesn't threaten future points deductions
2. general poor financial management has necessitated emergency loans, at higher interest rates, causing our costs to balloon and making it virtually impossible to be within PSR unless we do a lot of player trading before the end of June.
My concern is this £200m from 777 has been billed as working capital and not purely and solely for the stadium. How screwed are we for this years PSR calculation?
.... I feel uncharacteristically positive tonight.
best players is going. If it's one then I hope it's Onana, even though I've lightened up about him a bit. Socially he's a True Blue but belongs in a better team than us. Gueye, DCL, Tarkowski, Pickford, Mykolenko, McNeil, Chamitti and a few others on the brink, would give us a decent base. I don't think we'll be a relegation team next season but, of course, the problem is upstairs. Who knows what will happen with BMD but please let us own it and pay for it. Amen.
