…negating the entire purpose. Plus we’d be left with a squad of kids (and, potentially, a nine point deduction to start next season).
Essentially, we’d have gone through all of this just to make ourselves worse off.
It’s not some way to magically wave away our financial problems. It would be the start of a whole raft of new ones (before we even touch on the damage done to every non-millionaire with employment or business links to the club).
You could probably make a better argument to sell BMD to Liverpool, pay off all our creditors with the proceeds (Moshiri would still have to excuse his loan to the club) and just carry on playing at Goodison.
And it's disgusting that certain parties seemingly want it to happen (not you obviously!). Even if it makes sense for the points deduction, it's a horrific option.
First thing that would happen is EitC would be wound up, dozens / hundreds of people at the club would lose their job, before the squad etc got decimated.
Seeing Spreadsheets advocate for it so his mates could pick us up cheaper was infuriating!
Taken from the Athletic... According to Premier League rules, IF Everton go into administration before the final game of the season, the nine-point deduction would apply to this season, not next season.
So if we beat Sheffield United and Luton fail to win, would this be more likely to happen next week?
