Cables, Bootle, City of Liverpool and Runcorn so local non-league in a good place right now. CofL played Marine in the Liverpool Senior Cup final and gave them a good run for their money, so a good win for Cables (who Marine beat in the semi-final).
Marine have averaged around 1100 this season with over 1700 a few times. This from 300 or so average before the pandemic. They’ve used the windfall from the Spurs cup tie in 2021 to brilliant effect.
Winning the Northern Premier League playoff with a 2-1 win at Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield. Now promoted to National League North. 1250 away fans travelled to the game.
It’s been a fantastic season - 1st round proper of the FA Cup and retained the Liverpool Senior Cup to go with promotion. Non-league footy at its best and for a penno like me, £95 for a season ticket!
