At a club like Everton, you'd still have to strike a balance on the man management side but your tactics have to be dictated by the limitations of your squad. Dyche has done well at this.
Pep has only ever managed very talented squads where he has been able to define the style of play rather than being forced to adapt to the squad.
Ancelotti is like Guardiola a very good manager. Managing a big club like they do is as much about politics as coaching. Team is full of world class players, how do you even handle that? Pressure is different but just as intense, with a bigger club there are just so many more stakeholders to keep happy.
This is why I think many of the managers who did well at a smaller club fail, requirements are different.
Of course they are also top-class managers and coaches but for someone like Pep it's impossible to know how he would do with our squad. How would he adapt? Obviously he couldn't play like City but he has never had to work with players who can't string three passes together.
Is a “good fit for us”
Just curious.
