...certainly we've had occasional games where we've been the form team and it's still gone pear shaped.
Then we've had games where they're bang in form compared to us, and...it goes pear-shaped.
Then sometimes it's been, on-paper, hard to call....but it still went pear-shaped.
The other day though, it was clear from 1) the start we made and 2) that the ref was actually going to give us some FKs, that we might actually have a chance.
Thus, I spent the next 90 or so minutes shaking like a shitting dog at the possibility that we might actually beat the twats.
1-0 just made things worse; fuck now we've got something to hang onto, so it's basically going to be torture while they keep the ball and we hoof it clear.. 2-0, oh bollocks now this really sucks,. now we *should* win, so which creative ways might we find to fuck it up now and how humiliating is it going to be when we lost 3-2 now?
Then....they huffed and puffed and we pretty comfortably repelled them. I think I began to very tentatively feel it might be our night when the gargoyle of their's hit the inside of the post. If it had been a "normal" script, that goes in, we shit our pants, and they win 3-2.
Hope this helps.
I cant be the only person who didn't think we would get anything from the game and I've been all smiles ever since. But this morning I've been wondering have I had a similar experience of enjoying an unexpected win when no one gave us a chance.
Two games come to mind -
The Ferguson game in 94 when I think we may have been bottom of the league going in and they might have been top.
The Cadamarterie derby when it seemed Howard had lost the team but then we went out and wiped the floor with them.
Am I missing any others?
