A penalty should only be awarded when a goal is prevented by a clear deliberate illegal action, eg deliberate handball on the line. Otherwise a free kick in the box.
That way referees have much less scope to influence games.
So yesterday first one possible direct free kick. Second one nothing. Third one, I’ve seen many times and still not clear if Young touched it. I understand why NFFC are angry but we’ve suffered as much as any over the last few years.
