Which is all well and good, and I'm sure that can all be achieved, but fook me does that rip the enjoyment out of what is essentially meant to be (or at least historically has been) a far more free-flowing, unpredictable sport.
If I wanted 'plays', scientific analysis and stats overload, I'd watch American football.
Was the ball actually "played" when that still was taken? What determines if the ball has been played? Can they measure space between the ball and the playing player's foot, to prove it's actually been played?
If you're going to start measuring the actual offside so precisely, then you have to measure all aspects of the situation in the same way.
As heart-breaking as that decision was for Coventry, if it was the correct decision (he's off or he's not) then what needs changing?
The only 'change' that I can see is whether you employ VAR at all or not.
