for someone to retire, die, get sacked. He showed zero interest in Everton. His time at Everton was no better than any of the shit managers we've had since Moyes. So much more was expected of him. Unless you think he's only a good manager with world class players.
He was hardly rubbish with us. Did his best with limited resources (by his standards) and then headed off once it became clear that the club was a basket case and right up shit street financially.
I, for one, don’t blame him one little bit.
Why would an elite manager (who was very respectful about Everton during his time here) choose to stick around and grind it out with us when the world was still his oyster?
For the record, he was 100% the wrong appointment by Moshiri, but it was fun having him around for a bit.
