After pretty much following the RAND corporation's 2019 study, Extending Russia, the US has decided it's done practically all it can and is now concentrating on China. The EU has been left to mop up the Ukraine mess.
They Biden admin appear to be doing everything they can to lock in the current foreign policy trajectories. Trump-proofing them.
I think NATO maybe thought Putin would have stopped by now or at least eased up, certainly 6 months ago russia's position looked much worse. Now though UKraine is running low on military support, and with a US election coming up the US probably trying to play foreign policy as low key as they can. So many countries face their own problems right now economically, I think they are forgetting Ukraine. Which is odd in itself, as an end to that conflict could ease some economic stress globally.
