Overall, I think treading water is the best we can do for the moment and the proportion of blame that can be laid at the manager's door for that can't be that big. All we can do is hope for a positive outcome on the FFP and ownership situations, get through another tough season and keep fingers crossed that better times lie ahead. See what Dyche can achieve with a bit more room for manouvre. He may or may not be the right man for the long term, I just think it's almost impossible to say for sure under current circumstances.
However, when he's happy to go on the telly saying he wanted to play 'long & strong' (or words to that effect), AT HOME, TO BURNLEY, it shows his mindset.
I'm scared that even with a clean slate in the summer that doesn't change.
I'm well aware of our place in things, and the ridiculous constraints he's had on him, but that's an abject approach for an Everton manager, even in these grim times. And that's from someone who advocates strongly for him!
And, if we stay up, he'll be justified, given the points deductions, the paucity of squad and absent Board.
But, it's horrible. I keep coming back to Walter. It's fine playing defensive grinding football, whilst it's effective. Once it's not, maybe it's time to try something else? Like the subs at Newcastle (once he'd thought it was 2-0!).
I think he deserves another season, without points deductions, and with a settled squad, but the last few weeks have been proper depressing.
performance wasnt great but after so many without a win, we needed to get that sorted by any means necessary, a loss today would have been a disaster
we arguably should have had 2 pens too
Its still going to be tight, I think we'll get 4 points taken off us tomorrow
So you say there's a race of men in the trees
You're for tough legislation
Thanks for calling
I wait all night for calls like these
