It's impossible to generalise when so many attend for so many different reasons.
Yes, that bucket-hat-and-90s-footie-shirt wearing, pissed up, drugged up lot are there.
But that’s a small portion of the 250,000 that go. There’s people of all ages, families, campers, glampers and day trippers. Music and other entertainment appealing to many different groups of people.
I don't drink, I prefer sleeping in my own bed and I live for my home comforts
I presume people who go to Glastonbury are the same people who go to see Jamie Webster and Gerry Cinnamon - they go to get pissed and have a party, probably anything so they don't have to listen to the dreadful bland busking music
Glastonbury is absolutely nothing like you think it is
The music is of course an important part of the week but you'd have a great time even if you didn't go to the "BBC" covered stages
People who go keep going back for a reason
I go to about 70 gigs a year big and small - I'm seeing Liam Gallagher, Foo Fighters and The Killers in the next couple of months
If I want to go and see a band I like I go and see them
I certainly couldnt be arsed standing in a field to look at a screen 200 yards away
I'm going to the Garristonbury festival this year instead in Barnsley - 7 or 8 up and coming bands for £25 with a 300 capcaity featuring Andrew Cushin (who's going to be massive), The Lilacs and The Rosadocs amongst others
Hardly any bands there to get the blood pumping.
