We're obviously still digesting the document before we now move on to try to minimse the effect of the 2nd charge - and I've seen all the conversations below, but from what I've skimmed from the document just a few bits to mention (again - my personal point of view not a FAB one!):
The appeal board clearly agreed with the original commission that a fine or transfer ban would not have been sufficient and it had to be a points deduction. This is obviously a double-edged sword for us as it means that both us and Forest should get a points deduction for the latest breaches BUT the "double jeopardy" argument is actually strengthened by the repeated mentions of them following EFL protocols as a precedent because the EFL actually DO have a double jeopardy rule, which say that teams cannot be punished twice for the same accounting period, so I would guess that would form a large part of our case going forwards now that we know the outcome of this appeal.
So, I'd say (again, my own guess) that the outcome of the 2nd breach could range from the full 6 point deduction, to a reduced points deduction (e.g. 2 points as we've already been punished for 2 of the 3 years) or - if we're lucky and Rabonowitz can argue it as well as he's clearly argued the appeal - the 2nd charge could possibly be dismissed altogether, based on a combination of the EFL rules and our acting in good faith, considering that we didn't know/accept we had breached until midway through 2023 and have changed our behaviour since then.
Fingers crossed, and I get that some people still think it should have been a better outcome but I'm glass half-full, and try to look at it like this (again, my own opinion!) - this is the chickens coming home to roost after literally decades of financial mismanagement. If we get manage to get our house in order and get through this with "only" being deducted 6 points and avoiding relegation then I think that's as good an outcome as we could have hoped for...there's still a lot of ifs, buts and maybes in there though!
...Good to see a slightly less toxic relationship between fans and club emerging, if only in the moment...
Disclaimer (sadly necessary it seems!) - my posts here on The People's Forum are my own thoughts and opinions as a fan, not those of the Fan Advisory Board. Thanks.
