Forest, on the other hand, will face at least a six point penalty. As others have said, it's utterly shit that we're celebrating points deductions, at all, but - as this is the road the PL has gone down - this feels close enough to the 'best case' scenario that we might have hoped for.
We were never getting the full ten points back; six sees us sitting comfortably outside the relegation zone. Even with (up to) another six coming off our tally, we'll still only be a point off of Luton and almost certainly at least a point ahead of Forest (who would, at best, be on 18 points).
Get out of this mess, get through the season, hopefully reset. Ideally with a new owner that's not 777 and BMD on the horizon.
If I squint I can almost make out a light at the end of the tunnel (let's just hope it's not another train).
