Half my street and indeed a large portion of the area work there, over 6000 jobs (4500 actually pay tax in Scotland as well!). I've always looked on it as a job creation scheme, jobs for jobs sake. Its basically its own small town with a police, fire and ambulance for who sit about all day and watch movies, play 5 a side or go to the gym on site.
On principle I'd have it gone in a minute, but given there are only 3 big employers in the area (others being the council and whisky) it would devastate an area already one of the most deprived in Scotland.
...it's time to end this Trident nonsense once and for all.
The latest test fire was launched off the coast of the US and was supposed to land in the middle of the Atlantic between Brazil and West Africa.
Instead, it squirted out and plopped back into the ocean nearby.
Enough is enough.
