fair enough if you think all insults are unacceptable. I'd say gammon is relatively mild.
Is name-calling only acceptable if it aimed at your political opponents?
Personally, I'm no fan of any of those terms, gammon included. When someone starts talking like that, I feel it debases their argument.

Then the gammons will be all "oh, we didn't know this was going to happen, we didn't vote for this, we were lied to".
Yes, of course they were lied to, but when the lies were pointed out, repeatedly, they called the people doing the pointing out "traitors", "enemies of the state", "snowflakes", "libtards", "moaning lefties" and so on.
We're at the point now where Brexit zealots are accusing Gove of being "a Trojan horse candidate for civil service Remainers". They are lunatics, and their "revolution" is now starting to eat it's own.
