...we are nowhere near the top 6.
Liverpool with all their spending, decent transfer strategy and wage bill and clear game plan have so far finished 8th, 4th and 4th under Klopp.
Manchester United 6th, 5th and 2nd after a £500m spend and 2 seasons of Mourinho.
Best we can hope for now is a Tottenham/Atletico like clear strategy, style and logical signings.
More confident than I have been post-Moyes that we finally get what the problem is and are trying to solve it.
Top 6? Appreciate that’s our ambition (I think) but that’s fantasy IMO. We’re absolutely light years away from them currently given the state of our squad. Highly doubt we’re going to revamp it with the quality required in just one window to catch up and surpass any of those teams.
A season of steady transition and a huge amount of patience required to give Brands and Silva the chance to start repairing the damage.
With this cull of players they seemed to have set the tone.
The senior team know their places aren't guaranteed and they have to be worked for and the under 23's know there's a place for them if they step up.
And for me it should be Coleman for Captain, if there is one player who's going to lead by example it will be him and if someone's not pulling their weight on the pitch it'd be him. Yes he's not been at his best but he admits that and once he gets his sharpness back expect to see a few strikers ending up in row Z.
If we can bring in 3 to 5 players a mixture of experience and youth I' expecting a top 6 finish.
