That Leicester side that won the league was pretty poor aside from those three players. It's been widely reported that it was Walsh who recommended the frankly awful signings Leicester made in the summer of 2016 - not one of whom have established themselves in their first team.
Obviously "the man who discovered Kanté, Mahrez and Vardy" sounded brilliant at the time, and I was as excited by anyone. However, it seems like he has actually only ever uncovered those three gems, and little or nothing else.
At the time it was a gamble worth taking. In retrospect it was a bit of a disaster, but the important thing is we've moved on now!
I'm (cautiously) optimistic about Brands too, but you never know what you get with these people from the Dutch league. We can only hope he's the DoF equivalent of Ruud van Nistelrooy rather than Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
