It was clear to everyone why he was brought and he's suceeded but he was never a long term appointment and the hard work really starts again now, both from the new exec team, the new manager and the players.
I just hope Silva (assuming it is him) is given time to prove his worth. If he can endear himself to the fans from the outset, something that Koeman and Allardyce failed to, then it would be a big help. I feel we do need a charasmatic man at the helm, a Guardiola or dare I sare, Klopp type figure, someone who will take responsibility for when things go wrong, back his players to the hilt and get the players playing with passion , desire and commitment. Do that and the fans will always be right behind him.
With hindsight, Martinez, although annoyingly over-positive at all times, was a good appointment that could have worked out but his downfall was not to adapt his philosphy to the benefit of results. Moyes was quite open in admitting he changed his approach as he learnt and that trait is important.
: ...didn't we just sack Fat Sam for doing
: EXCACTLY what we asked him to do ? As in
: keep as in the EPL ? Or am I being too kind
