How much time, is enough time.? Last Season Swansea sacked 2 managers and stayed up, Sunderland gave their manager the whole season, but they finished bottom and were relegated. Time isn't the only factor. Has the team got momentum and is progressing, or are they regressing.?
"Time for a bit of patience - not a trait in most football fans."
Actually listening to the phone-in feedback, the majority of Palace fans would have given De Boer more time. But the board had no patience. Pelligrini, Mourinho and Ranieri all won the league and were sacked the following season. I don't recall the majority of City, Chelsea & Leicester fans calling for their heads. The board made the call to protect their investment.
Money talks. And serious amounts of money is swimming around this league. It's no longer just a sport, it's also a multi billion pound business. The money brings expectation and pressure. The guys making the investments, want to see a return in terms of performances, but more importantly results.
We are top of the 'least shots on target' league after 4 games. A total of 6 shots on target in 4 games. Is the team balanced? are the tactics right? are the players fit..? are we seeing progression..?
To continue a theme from yesterday... I was sat in the Park End with my 12 year old son...5 minutes into the 2nd half against Spurs I turned to him and said, "What do you think..?
"Looks like we can't attack, and we can't defend dad."
