: My first race way back in 2005.
: It's an iconic event of course, very busy
: nowadays and I prefer smaller events really
: but it is still worth doing if you like the
: buzz of a big race.
: To re-iterate other people's advice:
: Book accommodation very early and plan where
: to eat the day before and book that if
: I left it to my mate and he didn't sort it
: on time - ended up sharing a single bed with
: him the night before (he's a 16 stone rugby
: player) and eating fish and chips like Alf
: Tupper, as all the restaurants were full.
: Consequently I arrived on the staret line
: with a stomach ache. It was still a great
: experience and a early learning curve for
: Also - do some hill training, it isn't steep
: but surprisingly undulating and the last
: climb before the seafront can catch you out.
: My recommendation for a big half marathon
: with a great finish would be Reading.
