A tad sensitive!
I too think he's 'tied' to Cahill, as someone who embodies the spirit he wants and the work ethic he desires.
Then again, Utd jettisoned the likes of Hughes, Ince, Kanchelskis, Stam, Van Nistelrooy, Ince etc when they were deemed to be past their very best. They all still had good years ahead of them, but Ferguson saw that they'd past their peak, realised that they still had market value and got the best deals he could for them.
I'm not sure we're yet to see the best of Cahill. He's done a great job for us down the years (whatever you think of his ability, he's scored a number of important goals and always given his all), but that's no reason to keep him on if the money we could bring in for him would enable us to get a better replacement.
I'm not sure we need a complete overhaul, but I do think there's some wheeler-dealing that might need doing (coupled with a short transition period where we bed players in and see the team gel...or otherwise).
