A tad sensitive!
Of the ones to get rid of
Cahill
Yobo
Gosling
have to be those with most sell on value and who could be deemed as most expendable. Otherwise, I can't really see who else we could ship out (Anichibe and Vaughan not being fit enough to play nor sell). Heitinga's not been here long enough (more to do with me not understanding why we bothered signing him in the first place).
So outside of that lot, there's not much I think we can raise from the current squad that we wouldn't want to keep (although we might have a tough call to make if Pienaar decides he's not re-signing).
I suppose we could consider flogging young Rodwell for silly, silly money...Utd, Chelsea, City all supposedly sniffing...
Unfortunately, we learnt with Lescott (and Rooney before) that the only way we can 'build' the squad is to sell one of our high-value players. Under the current ownership, we ARE a selling club, like it or not. All clubs are, to an extent (e.g. Utd / Ronaldo), but experience of the last few years shows we certainly don't have (m)any funds unless we sell to buy.
I'm not advocating that, by the way, just saying.
