According to a Defence Minister on telly this morning....

we are there primairly to protect our national interests and citizens.

If we weren't in Afghanistan, lots of British citizens might be getting killed by terrorists here in the UK......instead of lots of Brtish citizens being killed by terrorists in Afghanistan.

Honestly, I don't think they have a clue why we are there, except other than America wants us there.
