Posted a fairly lengthy (I know, try to conceal the surprise) response about injuries last week in which I said that his return date was being ever-extended.
Tony sounds like he has a better inside track, but I did also hear that there a were a few raised eyebrows about how Mikel had opted to have his surgery (i.e. not via one of the three recommended surgeons that the club picked out from across the world, but back in Spain with the guy who does the Barcelona and Real Madrid players), especially when Jagielka had a very similar injury and is already kicking a ball.
Then again, as Tony says, if it's just part of his physiology then there's not a lot anyone can do. Just awful, awful luck for him 
Fingers crossed that all the rumours and counter-rumours are just that and they're simply being (rightly) very cautious about speeding up his rehabilitation too soon.
