We have a short midfield and 2 short FBs if Baines plays leaving us vulnerable at set pieces in Moyes' mind. As a result Lescott got shoved out to LB and is actually a damn good one, making it hard for Baines to get a look in. Injuries then make it worse. If we add size in midfield he may get more chance, but with Jags doing well it isn't certain.
His best chance may be to turn himself into a proper left midfielder but not sure he has the touch and vision for that. Wrong place at the wrong time basically!
