An elegant setting

A frame either detracts or accents what is inside it. The arrangements on "The Divine Ms. Cline" give a new shine to the already polished, never-to-be replicated Patsy Cline. If someone had never heard these tunes before were to hear this album, they would not know they are not original. Because they are. They might be original fakes, but there is nothing phony here. The execution is tasteful and respectful. If you know the previous versions, then your first listen to this cd will be full of marvel at the technical accomplishment. Your second listen will to be regaled in the sumptious sound of Ms. Patsy. There will never be another Patsy Cline. Others may come close, but the standard has been set and the best they can hope for is favorable comparison. Deprived of a wonderful artist way too soon, this is the closest we can come to enjoying new material. Don't fight it; just enjoy.
