I know some of you have said you do not need this workshop, or are going to wait for a later one, but it is easier and safer for me to send this email to everyone.
UKPT Follow-up Workshop – Manchester 23 - 25 June 2017
This is a Follow-up Workshop, restricted to those who have attended a Beginners’ Workshop. It is an essential part of the recovery program; we find that so much happens at the Beginners' Workshop that a lot is forgotten, and also morale can take a dip after the Workshop when on one's own. The Follow-up Workshop helps to reinforce everything, and gives you a necessary boost. For 8 out of 10, the two workshops are enough to give you the tools to continue on your own. Not attending a follow-up workshop is in effect an avoidance behaviour!
The difference between the two Workshops is as follows. Participants at a Beginners’ Workshop do not know what to expect, dread what they think is going to happen, and so arrive apprehensive and anxious; the Workshop is highly structured, in order to get through a lot of information, and to ensure participants do the desensing.
In contrast, participants at a Follow-up Workshop arrive more relaxed, they know the drill and know exactly what they want to do; desensing can begin on Friday evening. Hence the Workshop is loosely structured, and the leaders acts as facilitators. However all the topics covered in the Beginners Workshop are reviewed and reinforced in discussion.
George and Mark will be there for the whole period. You may wish to do the same, or you may wish to come for a shorter period; if local, you may choose not to stay at the hotel but to commute. You may feel able to share a room with a participant you are comfortable with. The choice is yours, but I need to know what you wish to do.
COST: the contribution of up to £120 is independent of how long you come for. Rooms are upwards from about £145 total (non-cancellable) for the two nights excluding breakfast. A room cancellable up to 4pm on the Friday is £175 total excl breakfast. Email the booking form back for speed and to ensure a place.
Again, if finance is a problem, get in touch; as you know, we can help.
If you cannot make this one, Follow-ups are held regularly i.e. the next one will hopefully be in October 13–15 in London and November 24-26 in Manchester.
As before, accommodation and meals is up to you.
