Another pet hate reared its head over the weekend for me. We were on a short break in Vienna, which meant that I had to use toilets out of my comfort zone. I usually managed to do so but it sometimes took me quite a while and I had to be content to wait until "the moment" arrived. One of the toilets I visited had a movement activated light which pinged on when I went into the toilet. Fine, but it then pinged off while I was still sitting waiting for action! There was no natural daylight so I was plunged into total darkness. I tried wildly waving my arms to activate the movement sensors but they only seemed to work in the public area of the toilet. Fortunately there was no-one else around as I opened the door to flap my arms around until the light popped on again. Not my most elegant moment it has to be said, but I did eventually manage to pee!
