I've heard that children inherit certain phobia from their parents by immitating their behaviour. In my case, I don't think it's genetics that has caused my shy bladder since no one else in my family experiences these problems, although my younger sister tends to pee a lot when she is nervous. My inability to pee when people are around has always been made fun of. I was almost 30 when familymembers started realising that this was something serious, and that it had great impact on my life. Still, they don't really want to hear/talk about it.
