Bert as a fellow sufferer of a similar age, I can empathise with your situation. It was not until January this year that I myself started owning up to the condition and went on a workshop. It have shown me that it is a slow road to recovery, but gave me the confidence to confront it, and all that it entails. I am leaps and bounds from where I started, and feel more able to cope with situations I previously avoided.
In my opinion you have a few options: 1. You go and cope as you have before 2. Tell someone, this is difficult and not for everyone but can help relieve some on that pressure. 3. Sign up to a workshop (I know it is nerve-racking, but I promise you it is worth it)
Sorry I can't offer you a quick fix, but if you ever find one please don't hesitate to contact me.
