John---Good to hear from ya---I only got small doses of maintenance while I was with Pan Am---As a kid I worked on Cummins engines and have always marveled at the internal combustion engine---Don't know which hanger it was but I was watching a couple of you guys putting a turbine section together and I said, "Guess you guys work as close as an eight of an inch"---Guy gives me a kinda dirty look and sez, "More like 3 thousandths !!"---Guess that's why something that big could run so smoothly---I was based in L.A. in '80 as an Engineer on the 747 when I packed it in---Enough travel for one lifetime---Hang in there---KB
