Stranded Pan Am Flight

My father in law who retired from Pan Am was telling me a story about a Pan Am flight that was stranded he thinks in Singapore when World War 2 broke out. He thinks there was a book written about it but can't remember the name of the author or the name of the book If anyone has any information on this please respond.
