Have you tried Ancestry.com? They have passenger lists going back to the 40's. I have been interested in this case since I was a teenager in P.R back in the 60's and read the article in El Mundo or El Imparcial at the San Juan library's microfiche. Unfortunately both newspapers are out of business and I don't know if the library still has the microfiche records.
I recently researched it again and have obtained several U.S newspaper articles from the time that have some of the survivor names.
I was particularly touched by the two year old named Mark Van Daalen who survived while his parents perished. Some other surviving passengers were: Neida Rivera, Arnaldo Pereira,Salvador Ayala and John C Burns (the pilot, who passed two years ago).
