:Hello Paul I read your comments. The 747sp fleet of PAN AM and the future of the aircraft to remain in the fleet wasn't worth it in the future as the 747sp were not economical to keep running and yes PAN AM was selling off these jets to UAL which there are only a few active today in service with other carriers. A deal was taken by UAL eventaully the fleet of 747sp jets was sold yet UAL flew them for a few years more before they disposed of them and they were broken up. A few reasons why the 747sp was withdrawn from the PAA fleet was merely due to PAN AM's future and that the devaluation was one of the factors so PAN AM had to sell them off or they would have lost more then they bargined for..Thank you
