Can some one help me out with this info on the sale of the 747sp fleet which UNITED brought from Pan Am. Was this due too the future of PAN AM surviving and cutting cost or was it because the 747sp fleet was no longer economical in the PAN AM fleet yet they were of a very young age when they were sold off and why did the sales of each 747sp aircraft devalue even though they were only ten years old in the fleet and why did PAN AM sell them off in stead of storing them or long term leases. I see UAL wasted no time in scrapping them not long after they were sold off to them from the PAN AM fleet. Thanks
