: Hello there everyone can some one help me
: out. When America shipped off troops to Iraq
: they used several airliners to carry these
: troops to the desert. TWA used L1011'S and a
: few 747's I know PAN AM also used three
: aircraft chartered by the USAF which consist
: of two 747-100's and either a DC-10 or a
: L1011 tristar jet. Does anyone or any pilot
: or crew member from PAN AM have this data or
: what A/C rego's or clipper names were used
: to an from this Operation. Thank you

: Hi there Ian i read your comments today. With the info I have from the PAA data base. PAN AM operated under charter agreements with the US Goverment only four aircraft available at that time for troop flights. Listed below are the aircraft used for this mission.
N742PA PAN AM 747-121 JET
Clipper Neptunes Car
C/N19649/18 delivered 1970
Fixed mutli wing aircraft.
N747PA PAN AM 747-121 JET
Clipper Juan T Tippe
C/N 19639 delivered 1970
Fixed multi wing aircraft
N749PA PAN AM 747-123 JET
Clipper Dashing Wave
C/N 19653 delivered 1970
Fixed wing multi aircraft
N744PA PAN AM 747-121 JET
C/N 19651/25 delivered 1970
Fixed wing multi aircraft
Note: these jets were used as troop carriers which the configeration could be changed to suite the milatary needs. These were also the same jets used for the return trips before the demise of PAN AM which had taken place in the same year 1991. Some of these jets went onto other carriers and some were scrapped or sent to the storage facilities soon after the Gulf war was over and the fall of PAN AM had taken place.
Thank you for your interest.
Regards
