Hello PAN AMAIRS and wonderful former PAN AM staff and many associated friends. Today on this very day back in the year 1979 I flew a specail emergancy flight over the pacific from SYD/AKL/SYD with my flight crew F/O-Cassin--F/E R Ferburg. Our aircraft was N538PA Clipper Fleetwing one of our PAN AM 747SP21 JETS. PA812 left AKL AT 0.745am running late from it's long haul flight from LAX/NAN/AKL. Our aircraft ETA time to SYD 09.30am "Hey we made little timming on tail winds across the tasman. Our turn around time in SYD was one hour 45 minutes. Our expected time into AKL was 16.45pm as PA 815. Once we were in AKL and off loaded passengers and cargo and crew. We were given a emergancy dash flight back to SYD for a patient suffering a rare medical problem that could'nt be treated in Australia. AIR NZ and QANTAS had no spare flights or aircraft that time. So PAN AM was called in to assist. We left AKL to SYD aboard with a medical team aboard and my same flight crew. To cut along story short we made the complete return trip in under 5hrs 23min. My speacail thanks to the medical team that day and my crew for giving this man and saving his life. MR Samual Auckram from Hastings NZ. "That's our PAN AM for ya. Most of the passengers on the continuing PA815 flight to HNL/LAX were put on another PA 747 flight that evening. In saying i would like to send our condolances to the Samuel family who's courage strongness and a very warm hearted welcome gave my crew that day. We pray for the passing of MR Samuel Auckram who passed away recently from a stroke in Auckland. Our heart and prays go out to your family from all of the entire staff of PAN AM around the world God bless you all.
PASLMS 23 The Lord is my Shepard'
For MR SAMUEL AUCKRAM IN MEMORY
Best Wishes & thoughts & prayers
