Hi Pijat,
For the aviation enthusiast, the 747SP was an aircraft to be admired. However as far as marketing goes, the 747SP proved to be a failure for Boeing with its $193-million development price tag resulting in the sale of only 45 aircraft. Boeing initially had a forcast to sell 183 747SP jets. The last 747SP aircraft was delivered in March 1987 to the United Arab Emirates as a VIP aircraft.
An initial order of 10 747SP's was placed by Pan Am. Later they canceled two jets. Today only four ex Pan Am 747SP's fly for different countries. Ex China Clipper, N540PA is one of them.
