Posted by Darell-East Texas My tabby cat has a habit of walking past things around the house and wiping his nose-leaving his scent (and cat snot too I am sure-ugh!) anywho, he walked past my potted Sago outside and it scratched his eye. I ended having to take him to the vet where he was fitted with an Elizabethan style collar (resembling a lamp shape) and I had to put this weird salve directly on his eyeball. Needless to say he didn't care for that at all and he was so glad when the scratch healed and he could go free without the cardboard around his neck. Poor baby, his eyes watered for a week before he got better. --Previous Message--

I don't know about the poison factor but I can tell you that they can scratch a pet and cause quite a bit of discomfort.
