Sago palm

i bought a sago palm and it was green i got it at wal mart i live in Pennsylvania so its cold so i put it on our loft it has a 4*2 sky lite and gets a lot of nice filtered morning sun. but back to the sago well i trans planter it cause a lot of the dirt was missing and it wasnt in the best condition i only have watered it like 3 times since i got it i mixed some cypress mulch in its dirt and the leaves are getting yellow circles should i remove the mulch or what?
