leaning a coconut palm

I had a green malian coconut palm planted six months ago. It has approx 3' of wood on trunk. I would like to make it lean to one side. I thought of using a turnbuckel & stake & cable, with a hose tied around the trunk for protection of the trunk, & just keeping pressure applied to the trunk until it starts leaning.
