We live in Dallas and had a backyard landscaped this year and added a variety of palms. We've spoken to our landscaper and several others and thier opinions and suggestions vary. We have windmill palms, pigmy date palms, and some very large mexican fan palms. My question is how do I care for them in the event of severe cold weather that sometimes North Texas is prone to? When it starts to get cold, do I trim the fronds back? Do I wrap all the trees in burlap?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
