My boss owns what he thinks is called a "Jelly" palm tree. He has noticed some palm trees in his neighborhood and elsewhere that he thinks are the same type of tree as his. However, the trunk of his tree is very rough, while the ones he sees elsewhere are smooth. He wants me to find out how people smooth out the trunks of these trees. He thinks they shave them down. Is this true? If so, does anyone know how to "shave" a palm tree and could you please provide directions if you do. I would greatly appreciate it because I can not find any information on this technique.
