Staking Queen Ann Palms

I got two Queen Ann Palms for Mothers Day. They were planted that day (May 14th.) I live approx. 4 miles from the Gulf near Freeport. We staked them from 3 directions, as the wind blows almost continually here. My question is just how long should we leave the stakes up? They are between 6 & 8 ft. tall and the root structure was planted and covered up very well.
