I am a recent transplant to Texas, and had some palms installed in my yard. The tree company drove nails into the tree to hold stakes in for support. After removing the stakes last year, this year I notice deep, 1" or wider holes where the nails came out. The tree is growing, but not vigorously. Should I try and fill the holes? As a side note, I now read this is not a proper way to support palms, for just this reason. I should have done more homework!
