I injured my left bicept this summer (tore a tendon loose from my forearm). Yesterday I learned I'll need surgery, probably in the next week or so, to re-attach the separated parts. My left arm will be completely useless for a month during recovery, and I'll be on limited duty for an additional month or more. As I write this I am typing with my righthand only, to see how feasable it is. Since I'm a hunt and peck typist, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. But it is certainly slower.
I haven't bought a hunting license yet, and I guess I won't at all this Fall. To add insult to injury (I love terrible puns) I lost the last farm I had permission to deer hunt. Two guys offered the farmer $3500 for exclusive deer hunting privileges, and in a downturned economy, money trumps 35 years of knowing each other. Such is life.
If I'm not on the hide much this Fall, it's because it's a PITA to type much. But I'll be lurking, reading about everyone else's hunts. Would someone be so kind as to shoot a BP squirrel eith me in mind?
Lastly, does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with a month of downtime? I'll lay in a stash of books and movies, but there's got to be something I can do to improve myself in a month. I'd thought of learning a language, but unfortunately the one that interests me is American Sign Language, which kind of requires having both of my wings available.
