Enjoyed the article,Possum. Pretty compelling perspective on things.
Regarding "natural selection", I don't think we Americans have any particular edge, except that which exists due to our pre-existing physical, political and social infrastructures (which we're doing a damn good job of trashing nowadays.)
We have become, at least collectively, a degenerate culture...though I guess we had a pretty good run.
Now we go the way of all great civilizations.
Wish someone could prove to me that History doesn't repeat itself...or rhyme so damn good.
